As a wildlife conservationist and safari guide hailing from Nairobi, I was thrilled to experience the family-friendly charm of Fraoch Lodge during our recent vacation. Nestled in the serene Boat of Garten, it offers a balanced mix of relaxation and adventure. My kids loved the children’s playground, giving them joyful space to play while my partner and I unwound. We took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen to prepare our meals, but the offer of home-cooked dinners featuring locally grown produce was tempting. Sharing breakfast with other guests was a highlight—enjoying warm bread and homemade jams while exchanging travel tales was delightful. For outdoor enthusiasts like us, the nearby trails were perfect for our family hikes, making the most of the gorgeous alpine scenery. Plus, the owner’s local insights made planning our days effortless. Just a short drive away, the Cairngorm ski slopes awaited us, an added bonus for winter activity lovers. Fraoch Lodge truly stood out as a welcoming base for families, making it memorable for adventures both big and small.
